We are now seeking a Governance and Compliance Manager to join our team at our headquarters in London.

The Role

As a Governance and Compliance Manager, you will develop a critical governance function to deliver best practice for our organisation as well as ensuring we adhere to regulations.

Supporting the Chief Governance Officer, you will implement big-picture governance strategies. You will provide technical advice to governance committees, proposing forward-thinking actions that facilitate the future of our organisation.

Dynamically engaging with and influencing boards and committees, you will execute and embed key governance improvements and monitor and report compliance status and any potential issues that arise. All the while, you will evolve governance frameworks to ensure they remain relevant and continue to act as an enabler for excellence.

Your role will also involve:

- Supervising the organisation and delivery of annual and general meetings and corporate elections
- Monitoring and reviewing the impact of recommended governance solutions
- Acting as a professional secretariat for the organisation's advisory council

About You

To be considered as a Governance and Compliance Manager, you will need:

- Demonstrable experience of working in the not for profit sector, preferably within a registered charity or member association
- Experience in a line management or supervisory position and supporting committees and corporate governance functions
- Experience in, and a knowledge of, complex governance matters and governing and legal documents, as well as implementing constitutional rules and regulations
- A degree (or equivalent professional qualifications or work experience)
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Proficiency in IT

Please note, this role involves travelling to other IMechE sites which may involve overnight stays.

Your role

As an ICorr Trainer, you’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) courses and training to students.

In this key role, you will train students in ICorr disciplines you are qualified in. Ideally, these will include Painting Inspector Levels 1, 2 & 3, Pipeline Coatings Inspector, Insulation Inspector, Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Inspector and Hot Dip Galvanising Inspector.

You will have the chance to train and gain new certifications and enhance your training abilities. You will also share your knowledge with team members and contribute to team development.

Specifically, you will:

- Deliver a high standard of ICorr training
- Update and develop training and learning course materials in collaboration with ICorr
- Review and assess students’ work
- Invigilate and mark examinations, ensuring awarding body standards are met
- Provide constructive and critical feedback on all training activities

About You

To join us as an ICorr Trainer, you will need:

- The ability to communicate and engage with students and training partners
- Demonstrable organisational and time management skills
- The confidence, creativity and enthusiasm to plan and deliver lessons
- Excellent teamworking and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- To be qualified in a range of ICorr methods
- At a minimum, an ICorr Level 2 Painting Inspector qualification, however, consideration will be given to those holding NACE, BGAS, Frosio and SSPC Level 2 qualifications
- The willingness to train and upgrade to ICorr Level 3, if not already held
- The willingness to travel to other IMechE sites which may require occasional overnight stays

The Role

As the Deputy Chief Examiner, you will take on a vital role within our NDT examination process.

Supporting the Chief Examiner, you will mark exam papers submitted by highly qualified and senior-level individuals. You will ensure that we conform to BINDT and Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) requirements, as well as the requirements of other certification schemes, such as The American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) and the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr).

Facilitating the examination process, you will act as an invigilator, mark exams and liaise with our approved examination centre training partners.

About You

To be considered as a Deputy Chief Examiner, you will need:

- An understanding of the documentation relating to PCN requirements for an AQB
- Experience working independently with strong accountability and within a team to deliver output to plan
- Excellent people and relationship management skills
- The ability to address sensitive issues, present complex data simply and provide focused feedback in a clear manner
- To be qualified to PCN Level 3 in a range of methods, including Ultrasonics (Welds)
- A high level of IT literacy, including the ability to use PCs and associated networks and systems (e.g. MS Office) to find, manipulate and distribute information
- A full, valid driving licence

Extensive experience in various methods of Non-Destructive Testing would be beneficial to your application, as would a Lead Auditor qualification.

ICorr qualifications and knowledge of ICorr examination requirements would be equally advantageous.

We are now looking for a Level 3 Consultant, Trainer and Examiner to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As a Level 3 Consultant, Trainer and Examiner, you will provide a high standard of consultancy, training, examination and certification services in various non-destructive testing (NDT) and materials evaluation methods.

Specifically, you will deliver contracted Level 3 consultancy services to ensure our clients’ NDT facilities comply with industry standards by undertaking regular on-site audits and through frequent dialogue.
Additionally, you will deliver a high-calibre of training to students in NDT evaluation methods, preparing them for examination and/or certification schemes as necessary.

You will also:

- Document audit findings to produce clear, concise audit reports
- Deliver training in multiple certification schemes, such as SNT-TC-1A, EN 4179, NAS 410 or PCN
- Invigilate and mark examinations to a consistent level
- Build client relationships to enable new revenue streams
- Develop and approve NDT procedures, written practices and NDT techniques

About You

To be considered a Level 3 Consultant, Trainer and Examiner, you will need:

- Substantial industrial NDT experience, including extensive knowledge of your own subject area
- NDT method Level 3 certifications across either ASNT NDT Level III or EN4179/NAS410 (minimum of two NDT Level 3 method certifications)
- Proven experience of providing solutions to clients’ NDT inspection related problems, with the ability to assume full technical responsibility for clients’ NDT facilities
- The ability to work well with students of all ages and backgrounds
- The ability to teach complicated physics and mathematical-based NDT concepts and techniques
- The ability to plan and deliver coursework, training materials and audit reports
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
- To be willing to train and upgrade personal certifications to ASNT NDT Level III, EN4179/NAS410 Level 3 or PCN Level 3
- Excellent computer skills
- Full, valid driving licence

Your role

Once you are trained, you will:

About You

To join us as a Non-Destructive Testing Trainer, you will need:

- At a minimum, five years’ industrial experience as an NDT technician
- At a minimum, PCN Level 2 qualifications (preferably a combination of these methods – RT Welds and RT Castings (Light and Dense Metals)
- Extensive knowledge in your NDT subject area
- The confidence, creativity and enthusiasm to plan and deliver lessons
- Excellent teamworking and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Level 2 qualifications in PAUT, CR, WI, PT or VT would be advantageous to your application, as would any L3 qualifications. Previous experience in a training environment would also be desirable, but not essential, as training will be given.
