We are now looking for an Education & Skills Policy Advisor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As an Education & Skills Policy Advisor, you will provide engineering education policy advice to the media, employers, governments, academic bodies and other institutions.

Providing thought leadership and expert advice to external stakeholders, you will work with members, the media and politicians, supporting our Education and Skills policy and promoting engineering education.

You will attend collaborative education boards to advise and assist with promoting engineering as a career, both internally and through external media opportunities, speaking about pathways into engineering and the different types of engineering roles available.

Additionally, you will:

- Write and deliver technically accurate engineering education and skills policy
- Conduct research with expert members and other organisations and commentators
- Develop and deliver campaigning policy positions
- Produce blogs, social media content, policy statements, case studies, campaigns and reports

About You

To be considered as an Education & Skills Policy Advisor, you will need:

- Experience of report and article writing
- Experience addressing sensitive issues, presenting complex data and providing feedback
- An understanding of current engineering education and professional development issues

We are now looking for an Events Executive to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As an Events Executive, you will oversee the end-to-end management and delivery of our portfolio of face-to-face, virtual and hybrid events.

Managing the set-up and implementation of conferences, seminars, webinars, competitions and lectures, you will oversee pre-event logistics and operations, negotiate with suppliers and venues, process volunteer and speaker expenses and co-ordinate event collateral.

Providing excellent administrative support across the events lifecycle, you will submit invoices for payment, compile joining instructions and email templates for events, arrange staff accommodation and monitor and report on customer feedback.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure regular expenditure reconciliation with the Finance Department
- Liaise closely with sponsors and fulfil deliverables and contractual obligations
- Manage calls and deadlines for peer-reviewed papers

About You

To be considered as an Events Executive, you will need:

- Familiarity with events operations processes
- Outstanding time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills

We are now looking for a Senior Content Producer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As a Senior Content Producer, you will be key to the development and delivery of a programme of exciting, technical conferences and training courses, focusing on addressing challenges in mechanical engineering. This is your chance to facilitate cutting-edge technical discussions and influence the direction of engineering and industry, particularly aligned with the IMechE’s policy areas.

Specifically, the Senior Content Producer is responsible for developing:

- Highly topical event programmes that deliver technical knowledge and drive attendance at the Institution’s conferences, seminars, and other events
- A portfolio of technical CPD training, designed to boost the skills of engineers and deliver real value to their organisations and employers

You will undertake detailed research with industry experts, including technical committees and special interest groups, to identify key topics and industry-leading speakers and trainers to deliver professional development programmes which address key engineering challenges.

Reporting into the Head of Programmes and working with project teams, you will promote and deliver a portfolio of repeat events and new professional development programmes to the engineering community, working with multiple delivery formats and subject matters.

About You

To be considered as a Senior Content Producer, you will need:

- 2 plus years’ previous experience in a B2B Conference Production role
- The ability to rapidly develop competent knowledge on diverse and highly technical topics
- Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct in-depth research interviews over the
telephone or through face-to-face meetings
- Sound interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with and relate to individuals at all levels, both internally and externally
- The ability to produce benefit-led copy for marketing collateral that drives enquiries and bookings, ensuring all copy produced is grammatically and technically accurate, in language appropriate to the market
